  • When layering treatments, we suggest working from thinnest to thickest consistency. Waiting a minute or so between applying each treatment will also help to avoid pilling.

We advise that prior to exposure to sun you use a broad spectrum SPF, immediately and up to 7 days after.

CAN THIS BE USED DAILY? Yes, this is suitable for use in the AM & PM.

CAN I USE THIS FOR LONG PERIOD OF TIME? Alpha Arbutin is perfectly safe to use both AM and PM every day for as long as needed.

CAN I LAYER IT WITH OTHER INGREDIENTS? Yes! You can safely use it with all other ingredients both AM and PM. What products should I not layer together? >

CAN I USE THIS ON HYPERPIGMENTATION ON MY BODY? Yes, you can apply it on all affected areas on your body. However, please ensure you are patching testing on the affected area before use.

WILL THIS CAUSE ANY SUN SENSITIVITY? No but ensure that you are wearing SPF daily so that you do not hinder the results and to make sure the dark spots do not linger

IS THIS SUITABLE FOR DRY SKIN? Yes! it has been formulated with Squalane so it is great for drier skin types

WILL THE ALPHA ARBUTIN HELP WITH DARK UNDER EYES? Our Alpha Arbutin serum was not formulated for use around the eyes. We would recommend to use a designated eye cream, such as Caffeine Eye Cream or Brighten-I Eye cream, for your under eye concerns instead. 

WHAT IS AN ALPHA ARBUTIN AND HOW DOES IT WORK? Alpha Arbutin is a natural antioxidant derived from the Bearberry plant. It helps reducing hyperpigmentation and other dark spots.  It treats but also prevents discoloration.

WHAT'S THE % OF ALPHA ARBUTIN?  There's 2% Alpha Arbutin in the formula.

WHAT'S THE % OF SQUALANE? Alpha Arbutin contains 0.5% Squalane.

WHAT IS THE PH LEVEL OF THIS PRODUCT? PH LEVEL: 5.98

MY ALPHA ARBUTIN CHANGED COLOUR, WHY? The colour is due the nature of the natural materials used in the formulation can cause darkening, however it is safe to use and will not affect the results of the product. Discard after 6 months of opening.

WHAT ELSE CAN HELP TREAT AND PREVENT  HYPERPIGMENTATION? Ingredients such as Tranexamic Acid and Rosehip Oil are specific to targeting hyperpigmentation by focusing on lifting the specifically darkened areas whilst Vitamin C based products can brighten the overall skin tone. Retinoids/Retinol also have a beneficial impact by speeding up the regeneration of the skin so these patches pass through the surface quicker.   Unprotected sun exposure can cause existing areas of hyperpigmentation to further darken and new areas of hyperpigmentation to form. We’d suggest protecting your skin with a broad spectrum SPF daily to help combat this.

HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE TO SEE RESULTS? Products can take up to six weeks to show full results, due to the time it takes for your skin cells to turnover and the results of any products to reach the surface. Consistency is key, so apply regularly even if you’re not seeing the effects straight away. It can be very tempting to increase use of some products to try and see quicker results, don't overdo it though. More is not necessarily more, and overuse can cause irritation and sensitivity.

IS THIS PRODUCT VEGAN? Yes! This product contains no animal derivatives and is now certified by The Vegan Society.
